I learned this week about not one, but TWO readers who both landed roles they found on TMI. How cool is that? I was on a high for a couple of days, and it reminded me why I 1) am a recruiter, and 2) voluntarily spend my time writing this every Friday. Senior Director of People/Culture at The Second City in Chicago, IL.
Okay, okay.. this is definitely not a startup. But for those of you who don’t know The Second City is an improv powerhouse that is basically a feeder program to SNL (think Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, John Belushi…). I’m pretty sure most governments are waaayyy behind when it comes to using secure tech for sensitive information, so the need feels very real. Founded by an ex FBI agent (cool!). I feel like there are a lot of these out there.. but it seems Arketa has really focused on embracing the hybrid nature of wellness, making it easy for individual trainers and entire studio chains to adapt their work to both. Seed stage company that provides an all-in-one platform for childcare centers to run their businesses. I have mad respect for childcare professionals (educators and minders alike). Lead People Partner at Sano in UK (Remote).
Series A company focused on creating consumer tests for genetic and health data, then having those tests feed back into their own database (anonymized, of course) to speed up the development of life-saving treatments of those afflicted by genetic diseases. I think this is brilliant. I also love the thought they put into their JD - they clearly care about their team.
