Hello!
Happy 2025 to you all 🎊 I hope you managed to give yourself a bit of a break these past couple of weeks.
I had assumed that there’d be almost nothing for me to post about today given the recent holidays. I hopped online with low expectations. Silly me - it turns out there was a ton of interesting stuff out to sift through.
This feels like a promising sign for the year to come.
Note: NYC and Paris were oddly over-represented in my haul today. To make it easy on myself, I created a shortlist of ‘honorable mentions’ in Paris in the EMEA section for those interested 🇫🇷
And now, onto the the most interesting roles…
The Americas
(First!) Senior Recruiter at Kindred in San Fransisco, CA.
Series A members-only home exchange platform. I actually wrote about Kindred back in May then they were hiring their first HR person. Now they are looking for their first full-time recruiter :) Fun! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-In, Early-Stage, Interesting Space + Model (international stays, no $$ exchanging hands, vetted properties), Women-Founded, Solid Backers (Caffeinated, a16z, NEA)
(First!) Head of People at Archive in USA (Remote).
Series A startup that partners with fashion brands to create branded resale platforms - with an overarching goal to keep items out of landfills, and to change consumer behavior when it comes to buying ‘new’ things. This works particularly well for returned/damaged goods that need repair before reselling. I think it’s an interesting approach to sustainability and one that I’m sure fashion brands are drooling over, even if just as a way to improve their sustainability numbers (👀). This is their first Head of People role, so lots to build! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-In!, Early-Stage, Interesting Approach to Sustainability, Woman-Founded/Led, Solid Backers (Bain, Lightspeed)
Head of Org Performance & People at Public in New York, NY.
Series D fractional, multi-asset (ETFs, Stocks, Crypto, etc) investing platform for individuals. They have offices across NYC, India, and Denmark, and this role would oversee all parts of the People function, reporting into the cofounders/co-CEOs (sidenote: does co-CEO ever really work?). I really like that they are clear about not being a company that focuses on headcount growth, but rather on increased efficiency and performance of the existing team. I like that. Apply here.
TMI Factors: Big, Meaty Job, Cool Space [I personally think that learning how to invest - even in micro amounts - is something everyone should learn as early in life as possible, and its platforms like these that make it accessible], Solid Backing ($400M+ raised, backed by Accel, Greycroft, Lakestar)
(First!) Lead Recruiter at Range in NYC or Washington, DC.
Series B wealth management platform for individuals - using financial experts + their platform to help you manage every aspect of your finances (income, taxes, spend, investments, etc). Wealth managers have historically been reserved for the ultra-wealthy, so I’m always happy to see when a company comes out that makes this a bit more accessible to the masses. You’d join as their first recruiter, building out the whole Talent function! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-In, Early-Stage, Cool - albeit busy - Space [making financial management more accessible and interactive], Fresh Funding ($28M Series B in Nov 2024, backed by Cathay Innovation and Gradient [Google’s AI Fund])
Senior Manager (Head) of People at Citizen in New York, NY.
Series C company that was one of the early-players in public safety apps - allowing a local community to receive alerts of local issues (gas explosions, amber alerts, car accidents, missing persons, whatever). I remember this being really popular when they first came out - it felt exciting to be in-the-know at a neighborhood-specific level. It seems they’ve remained lean, and are looking to bring in a Head of People to oversee all HR/Talent, alongside managing a small team of up to two folks. Apply here.
TMI Factors: Small Team, Interesting Space (community-building through knowledge-sharing?), Impressive Backers (Founders Fund, Sequoia, 8VC - though it’s been a few years since they raised)
(First!) People Operations Lead at Stable in New York, NY.
Series A company that provides virtual addresses + mailboxes for startups. It’s kinda a funny one - I don’t know where this business model is going to go longer-term or what the growth potential is, but as someone who has used a virtual mailbox for a significant portion of my life (and with the increase in remote companies or companies trying to incorporate in the US from abroad), I guess this resonated with me. The team is about 30 right now, and you’d be people hire #1 - so lots to build! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-in!, Early-Stage, Relevant Space (albeit with a limited TAM), YC-Backed
EMEA/APAC
(First!) Talent Partner at Kili in Paris, France.
Series A enterprise data startup, helping large companies digest huge amounts of data to make that data usable (tagged, categorized, etc) - thus opening the doors for these companies to implement internal AI solutions. Clearly an important space to be in and the precursor for any enterprise company trying to build new AI tools [messy data = messy AI]. It looks like they have one People Manager onboard, and you’d be the first in Talent. *French language not required! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-In, Early Stage, Important Tech for AI, Solid Backers (Balderton, Headline)
Plus some honorable mentions (all in Paris!)…
(First!) HR Manager at Formance [seed, infra, YC-backed] - Based in Paris [English required, French a plus] *note: this role is more of a People Lead (covers TA/HR)
Talent Acquisition Manager at H [seed w/ $220M+ in funding, AI models, a bit of an AI darling in Europe] - Based in Paris [English required, French a plus]
(First!) Talent Acquisition Manager at Finary [Series A, B2C fintech, YC-backed] - Based in Paris [Fluent French required]
Have a great weekend, everyone!
