TMI Jobs in People & Talent
July 4, 2025 - Roles at Etched (again), Confido, Gradient Labs and more..
Hey hey,
For my fellow Americans out there, wishing you a _____(?) Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
It’s a particularly weird time to be American, and I think a lot of folks, understandably, have conflicting feelings about celebrating today. So whatever you’re feeling today, you do you.
For me, I’m celebrating the enormous privilege that having a US passport has granted me. It’s undeniable that it’s unlocked doors for me that would have otherwise been shut. And for that, I am so grateful.
Also, I’m celebrating hot dogs (disgusting and delicious), the national anthem (I mean, it’s a pretty epic song), and Bruce Springsteen, our national treasure.
And now onto the most interesting roles…
The Americas
Founding Recruiting Lead at Confido in New York, NY.
Series A company building a financial automation and intelligence platform for CPG brands. You know you’re too deep in tech when you kinda forget that there’s an entire, enormous industry of CPG companies out there. They need some love, too, ya know. Anyway - you’d be the first talent person in the door, working alongside the CEO and CTO! Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-in!, Early Stage, Big Unaddressed Market, Fintech is generally interesting to me, Fresh Funding (recent, unannounced Series A)
Head of People at Etched in San Jose, CA.
Series A (but $120M+ raised) company building specialized chips for transformers (AI) - enabling a more energy- and cost-efficient future of computing. I wrote about them last week, and then this role popped up! This person would be leading all of HR specifically (I don’t believe TA is included in this role) as the company scales from the ±110 folks it is today to the multi-hundreds that it’ll inevitably be in the coming years. Apply here.
TMI Factors: Big, Meaty Role, Very Cool & Important Space, Impressive Backers (Primary, Two Sigma, Hummingbird :))
Head of People at Insitro in South San Francisco, CA.
Series C biotech company that uses AI/ML to speed up the drug discovery platform - making it possible to create brand new treatments for a huge array of ailments faster than ever before. There are a lot of companies doing this - which is a great thing - and Insitro focuses on the areas of metabolism, oncology, and neuroscience. You’d be coming in to own all of People, reporting into the the CEO (this could be a SVP or CPO level role). Apply here.
TMI Factors: Big, Meaty Role, Important Mission, ML + Drug Discovery = Magic, Women-Founded/Led, Impressive Backers (a16z, Blackrock, HOF, Two Sigma)
(First!) Talent Acquisition Lead at Venn in Toronto, Canada.
Series A company building a platform specifically for Canadian businesses to better help them manage their business in both CAD and USD. You’d be the first full-time talent person on the team (and you’ll probably do a bit of HR stuff, too). Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-in!, Early Stage, Tailored to Canadian Businesses 🇨🇦💪, Solid Backers (Gradient, Left Lane)
Talent Acquisition Lead at Nomic Foundation in UTC+2 to UCT-4 Timezones (Remote).
Non-Profit org that builds open-source software for advancing the Ethereum ecosystem. I’m not a crazy blockchain optimist myself, but I do love the fact that it is such a mission-oriented space for many - and that you have entire non-profit orgs building free tools just to support that ecosystem. You’d be joining a small team with a Head of Talent & People (Dasha, who is great) and one other recruiter. Lots to build! Apply here.
TMI Factors: Non-Profit, (Mostly) Global Reach, Mission Driven (if you believe in the mission of decentralization, that is), Interesting Technology
EMEA/APAC
(First!) Technical Recruiter at Gradient Labs in London, UK.
Series A (?) company building AI agents specifically to automate repetitive tasks when it comes to customer service in the financial services sector. You’d be joining as recruiter #1 on a team of 20. Fun scale to build at :) Apply here.
TMI Factors: First-in!, Early Stage, Get In On AI-Palooza, Solid Backers (LocalGlobe as lead)
Talent Acquisition Lead at Nomic Foundation in UTC+2 to UCT-4 Timezones (Remote).
